WE ROCK HERE IN BRAZIL

    We rock well. Yes! We like heavy metal very much. But it's a pity when
you turn on the radio and listen to disposable artists and music. It's a
World tendency.
This is the Globalization effect that causes it and makes too many disposable
things being severe consuming between them the music as well. That's why we
must preserve Heavy Metal as a style and as a movement as well as its icons
like Ronnie James Dio. Because we realize that too many songs won't last
forever. Too many songs and groups that will be forget through the years. Too
many generations that will never know about them. But there is a difference
between those who came to stay and those who just is in the Media now. One
will pass and two years from now maybe three nobody will remember them and
those who came to stay never will disappear.  On the contrary, people will
always join to them and make the style stronger.  That's why what is good
will never die!!!! (And please excuse-me this rhyme).

    A SHOW TO WASH UP YOUR SOULS

    Well, let's talk about a very good Show which happens here on April 5th.
    Since last perform with Deep Purple we were expecting Ronnie James Dio
with his own performing. We knew that he will return with his Magica Tour at
the beginning of 2001 and we were getting prepared to it.
    April 4th-  Ronnie was already in Brazil but he was going to perform
first in Rio de Janeiro.
    April 5th -  The day has came! Ronnie arrive in São Paulo and I was very
nervous and anxious and it was a pity that his days off were in Rio indeed.
This day to me  was a confusion. I had too many things to do and between them
I should discover where it would be the Hotel that Ronnie and band were going
to stay so I decided that I was going to stay at the Hotel as well. I wanted
to stay there because maybe I could appreciate a talk with Ronnie.
I phone to my friend who was trying to help me to find the hotel but I could
not find it at all. I phoned to many hotels to get information ( I am very
naive, because they  don't give such information by phone!) but Ronnie was in
any of them apparently. Ken tried to help me as well. He got an address where
Ronnie was supposed to be but it was in the countryside. I found it hard to
believe!
Well, I excepted the fact that at least I could see Ronnie performing. But I
could not believe yet. I wanted to meet him! I had bought him a gift and I
wanted to give it to him but how?
I got ready to go to the Show. My friends was not there yet. So I decided to
up stairs and get my place. I hated my place indeed. It was very far from the
stage. My friends arrived and we both tried to persuaded the guard to let us
down stairs because we could try to do something. Maybe talk to someone just
to let me hand my gift to Ronnie. But it was not possible once there we just
could get out when the Show finishes. The Show was foreseen to beginning at
09:00 p.m. but there was not people enough. Credcard Hall is very far from
the downtown it takes more or less forty minutes to take there. The sound was
being prepared and in spite the distance I could see Willy he went to the
stage to see how was the public. It was not quite good indeed. People were
still coming but we were getting very excited and suddenly everybody started
to shout: "DIO, DIO, DIO" .It was around 10:00 p.m.
Anybody understood what was happening and it was 10:30 p.m. when the band
stepped on the stage and we barely could believe in our eyes! Finally Ronnie
was there!
Just to warm up the Show was opened with Sunset Superman and All the fools
will sail away.
I was delighted and everybody wants more.  Holy Diver, Last in Line and the
songs from Magica as well. Ronnie ran through the stage. There was some guys
who gave him a big flag  it was written: "Dio Brazil love you, you are the
God of Metal".
The Show continued now it was Magica! It was some songs from it indeed and I
liked because he sang Lord of last Day, I like this one very much!!
During the Show Ronnie went to sing in the middle of the audience some 
times. And
one of these times such a funny thing happened. During the solo he leaves his
mike and went there to the folks,  people went crazy indeed. But when he
tried to come back he couldn't and the band carried on playing despite of the
hole with no lyric. When he finally got on the stage he couldn't find his
mike. He put his hands up looked around and start to laugh. His mike was
behind him!! It was great because was funny and he cope with the situation
quite good, laughing!!
When Magica finished we were still very anxious because he was just promising
sing us Holy Diver. And It was what happened. Holy Diver!!!
I was sat and it was first time I stood up I could not believe in my ears!!
And everybody there was downstairs started rocking as well.
I was in box upstairs  and like I already told I hated that place! Because if
I stood up people behind me could not see the Show very well but when Last in
line started I  really didn't mind to no one, sorry but...! I just stared
jumping and singing!!  People on the box are very behavior indeed. They
didn't seem  to be Rockers!!!!
Amazing, amazing!!! Heaven and Hell my friends and I went crazy!!
But there was still a surprise. Neon Night!!! I always dreamt about seeing
Ronnie singing this song because when I started to listen to Heavy Metal it
was the first song I listened!!!!  Marvelous, I  really love it. It made me 
remind when I first  sang Heavy Metal in my life. Unbelievable!!!!
But the Show was in the end.  They went away!! And we started to shot again:
"DIO, DIO, DIO" and they came back to the stage and did Rainbow in the Dark.
Now it was the end to everybody was still shocking.
Little by little the Auditorium got empty my friends and I were one of the
last ones who left it.
 I got sad because it had finished and I didn't see Ronnie. So I said good
bye to all my friends and took a taxi to get home.
I went talking with the driver about the Show he knew something about Ronnie
the time he had been in the Black Sabbath.
Suddenly, I saw a van and I told to the driver follow it because I was sure
that it was the roadies and It was what driver thought as well. So some
minutes after we were in front of a Hotel where I could see some guys wearing
Dio T-shirt. Finally i found where Ronnie was. It was around 1:30 a.m. and I
waited at the outside. Some guys kept on arriving. I started to talk with
them. Hours just passing by and Ronnie didn't arrive some of the guys was
just giving up when a Van approached now it was Ronnie.
Everybody went to try to be the first one to talk to him and in the middle of
the confusion I just calm down and said: "Hi Ronnie do you remember me. It's
Luccy" I was quite different from the first time we met each other - He
recognized me  give a very tight hug and a kiss. A woman started to talk to
him in Portuguese and there is no need to say that he didn't understand a
word . I just offered to help him and he likes very well. But too many people
are boring and some guys took  too many LP to him to sigh. He was getting
tired and when he finished I could took my pictures. I haven't had taken a
camera with me and one of that guys which I talked to took the pics to me . I
gave the gift to Ronnie as well. Now people wanted more sighs but Willy
didn't let anymore and I had to agree with him Ronnie needed to rest it was
around 3:45 a.m. and it's not fair because Ronnie is always kind to everybody
and now I could see that he was getting worried. Because as I said people are
boring some times they don't realize it( or realize but pretend not see!).
  Ronnie went away very early in the morning and with him he took our hearts
which will be always waiting for him when he decided to perform here in
Brazil again!
