Hi again !

first of all I would like to apologize for the images delay in the
last DIOZINE issues, I'm trying my best to write an image for
every single issue ,yet life circumstances and my load of
studies ,make my job much more difficult than I've personally imagined
my self! Anyway I promise to try to keep those upcoming images more
constant and steady!


Killing the Dragon ,not only a new title for a new Dio album  yet, its
one of those remarkable stand points in the recent history of Dio
where he came out to prove to his worldwide fans that still he can
produce hot, electrifying and refreshing rock albums just like the good
old days whether like Holy Diver, Last in Line, Dream Evil etc. Although
since Dream evil Dio had many solo albums releases ,Killing the
dragon is certainly the most effective ,powerful and fast album since
the time ,yet its the most album that attracted all types of
different Dio fans ,unlike the previous ones ,which had a huge side
of fans un happy with the direction of the albums released and almost
lost hope & faith of having Dio back grunging and roaring on fast
tempo songs just like the old days !


From all the different types and direction of songs within the
album ,the title track rises all over each and every song ,standing
out as one of Dio finest moments ever! Aside from the awesome heavy
riff ,the lyrics concept and the band expression of the song is
defiantly the highest point of the album ,actually just like before
Dio uses his god gifted talent in writing one of his most
symbolic ,serious and related life image and conceptual song! So, here
we go again ........

Our story starts way back ,1000 of years and ages back ,to those days
where mankind never figured out what's technology yet ! to the dark
ages where darkness and fear was the main theme of life! Somewhere
at the time lived a city ,ruled by a dark  powerful Queen ,nobody
really know who she is ,nobody knew where she's really from ,all they
know is that she has unlimited power and evil that no one can stand
in her face or even dare to dis-obey what she ever asks for ,its
something they know nothing about ,yet that's what they know and that's
what they were told when they were young .Years passes by, suddenly a
tragic shakes the small poor city, a child is missing ! a child have
been lost !all the people around gathered looking for the child yet
after days and days of searching no trace was to be found! Days passes
on and on ,till once again similar tragic come along ,another child
is missing and yet not to be found although again the whole city
gathered along to search for ! On & on the phenomenal dismiss of
young children in the dark hours is repeated again and
again ,moreover rumors started to come out that the evil powerful
queen of darkness is the one all behind all these crimes, yet each and
every one knows how powerful she is that there is  no one brave
enough to announce how the whole city is shaking and scared of this
old witch since their families dark ages! Days comes and go till
everyone decide they had enough ! yes they cant take this shit
anymore till when they will keep their eyes, ears and mouth shut upon
what's happen? till when they will keep on hiding and afraid from
facing the truth and danger ? ........Song starts with atmospheric
keyboard effect giving the feeling of the ancient time along with
darkness and fear ,suddenly the heavy riff blows over ,the riff gives
the sense of anger and passion ,its like a revolutionary sounding
tune ,yet has the beautiful melodic effect giving the sense of the
dark ages ,dungeon and dragons!

"Silence
We hunt for the queen"

In the promised day ,the whole city is gathered, in the darkest hour
of the day they re together along for one goal to seek and destroy
the fear they have been living with since ages and ages! In silence
with each holding burning wooden fire to lighten their way through the
darkness they move together towards the castle of evil in order to
hunt and kill the queen of darkness!

"Sign of the cross
And pray in between"

Through the darkness and through their way fear and scary memories
starts to rise upon the brave men ,although nothing will stop them for
what they all decided already ,no one can really imagine or think of
what's going to happen next ,will they able to face all that
evil ,will they have the enough to strength and power to put an end
for what they have been through all those past years ? through their
way ,each one aside from the other prays within his body and
soul ,asking god to pass and put on hell of a night to a certain end !

"Look by the light of the day
She's hiding `till dark
Waiting to play, hey hey"


Just like everyday ,she's hiding from the light of the day ,staying
away till darkness comes in ,only then she will appear to hunt her
victims ,and only then they will be able to hunt her back .

"Something's taken a child
And it all must end
Time to be killing the dragon again"

All those scary dreams must be put to an end ,no more children
taken ,no more missing child ,its time to get rid of your fears ,its
time to overcome what u think u can never get over or defeat ,its
time to face all your illusions, truth and facts! its time to be KILLING
THE DRAGON! the dragon here is just  pure simple symbolic abstract to
our inner fear and weakness ,its the difficulty of the toughest enemy
u can ever face ,your inner self ,isn't it time to get over your weakness
and fear ? can u fight what takes always over u ,can u put an end to
all the things wrong all around u ? that's the real question! The
people gathered with their power and will enters the evil ,devilish
castles taking down the queen and putting an end to their long and
mystical nightmare & DRAGON!

Years after this tragic ,somewhere in time ,somewhere all around our
huge world a similar story has begun .In a city of money and gold ,in
a city where is to be told ,all pieces of gold to be found ,ruled a
king ,a mighty king whose wealth and money is all taken from the
rights of his city and people, where people in a complete contrast to
their long beholding king ,starving and lack the money and wealth to
live as good as their grand families did ! Years go on and with the
rising of his money and power ,the king has gone insane thinking that
he had turned into a GOD of his own and putting his city and people
into more suffering and disaster ! No one dared ever to face the king
and ask for their rights ,rumors and stories have been told that
those who asked were thrown to those howling wolves at his castle and
other were tortured till death ! On and on the story went on ,till all
the people decided to rebel ,to ask for their lost rights, to ask for
the things that really belongs to them ,together ,all gathered one
hand they re going to face their mighty   king and bring him down!

"Silence
We'll hunt for the Lord
He takes crimson and gold
Gave ice to the cold"

In silence the city is grouped all together ,they re going to their
greedy king ,the one who has taken their gold and money ,the one who
killed the innocent suffering cold people asking for their rights!
instead he gave them death ,he gave them ICE ,ice refers to
nothing ,he gave them nothing ,giving an ice to the cold ,is more of a
torture than a help ! what would an ice do for a guy who's cold ? the
cold hearted will have an end soon ,its his time to taste ICE!

"Oh to be never afraid
Of wolves at the door
Howling for more"

Once again whether they re going to face wolves ,beasts, or monsters they
don't care anymore! its their destiny ,its the one thing they have to
get through to reach the land of safety and security ,they have gone
over their fears ,the dark weak side of their soul afraid of all the
consequences of what may happen ! yet its over now ,they decided to
take him down, so whether the howling wolves are waiting for more ,they
have to make sure there aren't any no more victims anymore, at least from
there side !

"Mores' been empty for years
And it all must end
Time to be killing the dragon again"

Once again its time to end the nightmare, its time to get over what
have been controlling u for years and years ,its time to get rid of
all the boarders and thick wall of legendary illusions you've been
living in ! its time to be killing the dragon again!

Doug Aldrich enters his guitar solo -

* The solo comes to be one of the highest (if not the best ) points
upon the album as its highly expressed and preformed by Doug ! the
solo starts with a guitar roar ,or in others words a mere
scream which expresses the process of the dragon being
killed ,although it sounds like a dragon scream ,its actually a
scream within each one of us ,its the scream of struggle between each
one and his own weakness and fears ,its the scream of the dark side
of us ! the solo then starts to graduate into dynamic from slow to
fast rising up and up till the fastest and most difficult side of the
solo - actually this part is very expressive as well ,as it expresses
the flow of time ,years flowing from the days of king and lord to our
days ,years have passed & gone  and here we are at the recent time
where mankind is surrounded by technology everywhere around!


Days turned around and the whole mankind destination changes a lot
since technology came in ,and although there isn't evil king & queens
anymore ,a new dragon appears in the horizon!

"Kneel and behold your new king
Digital dreams
And wonderful things
To tease you"

Computers ,not only one of the most important inventions in  the
history of mankind, yet it had become a god of its
own, controlling, leading and moving everything around us ,mankind
dependency on such systems have reached its pick! it turned into the
new king ,a new evil tree we have planted its roots our selves ,RJD here
is trying to turn our minds and head towards the new danger the new
upcoming dragons, it's like his sending a message to all the people
warning them of the same story which have been repeated through out
history once and again ! they might appear so entertaining teasing
machines ,but yet we must realize and understand that it turned
into the controlling level and step !

"Small gods with electrical hearts
And it all will end
Time to be killing the dragon"

Little gods, small gods growing up on our hands till it reaches the
point of no return ! till it reaches the point of complete
control ,almost of perfection and turns into a new huge ,matured
DRAGON! yet everything has an end and so no matter how time goes on
it will must come to an end ,there is no other way to end up such a
thing than facing the dragon! each one facing what over controls
him, what he think he would never get rid of ,his darkest fears and
illusions, the lines he thought he could never pass or face! the song
fades away leaving beyond a very important message ,as long as time
goes on ,dragons will be killed and others will get re-Borne, it's
something within the cycle of life ,never ending wheel, it may take
hours, days, months, years but yet we will never give up KILLING OUR
DRAGONS!
