Deep Purple and A Very Special Guess

When I hear about DP performance here in Brazil and with them would come a

very special Guess: Ronnie James Dio.

I barely not believe!! I may have a chance to meet Ronnie in person!

It was going to be a different show, with an Orchestra, and because of that

I was told that it would be impossible to get a Show Pass to meet Ronnie. I

got extremely up set indeed; I could not loose the chance of my life!

But as days gone by I got more excited and nervous just thinking about what

I should do to make my dream come true ( ooh!! forgive my rhyme!!) .

Well, It was Monday and they were already here, to next and to far from me.

I was checking my e-mails when I realised that there was a strange name in

my box, at first I thought about delete it, but I decided to open it up

because I am very curious indeed. It was an e-mail from a girl who works to

DP fan club here in Brazil. She told me that she could introduce me to

Ronnie and let me her telephone number asking to call her on Wednesday . At

this moment with tears in my eyes I thought: Thanks God you have listened to

my prays.

It was Wednesday, I spent the whole day trying to talk to her and only the

answer machine replied.

It was Thursday première. It was a Holy-Holiday here in Brazil everything

was silence, I woke hopeful to make contact with that girl again, I was very

impatient, I phoned her thousand times and I could only listen to the answer

machine voice. I was getting sad and sad. If I only could know in which

hotel they were!!

But I didn’t have loose my hopes. It was around 17:00 o’clock and I decided

to phone her again and I was decided not to give up till somebody reply.

Then I phone and suddenly someone answered. It was the girl I identify

myself and then she gave me the Hotel address and told me to go the next

day. I started to quiver now I was closer to him!

The dawn brought peace to my hear,t tonight I would be there to see Ronnie.

I started to count hours. I got ready my mother was excited as well. I leave

home it was 23:15 with me I carried some gifts to give Ronnie. I arrived at

Hotel’s front door it was around 23:35. I identify myself and I came into

the Hotel . It was empty. I sat down and wait wait, wait ....It was almost

12:35am . I ask to the receptionist what time they might arrive and he told

me that they were coming around 2:00am . I went to the bar to have a drink.

After that I came outside the bar and I was not alone anymore this time

there were some people that like me waited to see them. They started to come

I could see: Gillan, Pace, and John Lord after Roger Glover. People at the

lobby started to get excited to take photos with their Idols. Some wanted

Gillan , some Pace so on, John Lord doesn’t came to the Hotel’s bar he went

straight to his room.

Now it was around 2:15am, I was very tired indeed when suddenly I saw ….It

was he!!!!!!!

My heart started jumping very fast and my eyes got fogged and I could not

move at all Ronnie took the lift. Then there was a young-lady next to me who

told me: ` who are you waiting for? `

I told her that I was waiting Dio and she told me `He’s just passed

by!!!!!!`

I know I replied but ….This time he came back and she took my hand and we

headed towards him. As I approach him: I just said: Ronnie. Then he looked

at me and I hugged him I gave him his gifts: He opened the little pack and I

believe that He liked it very much. He asked if it was a `Sapo`(Frog. Sapo

in Portuguese and maybe in Italian as well). I replied ,yes!! And we started

to laugh! He signed my diary and told me that I had such a beautiful name

and if it was Italian because it sounds like Italian. We took some pictures

and then he went to the Hotel’s bar. This time arrived that girl and after

Steve Morse. She invited me to come into the bar. I could not believe I

should be dreaming. I was into that bar with all Rock Stars.

I sat down next to Ronnie but Roger Glover came and started to talk to

me...he is such a nice guy!!

I made friends with two guys there and they saw I liked Ronnie very much and

asked me to call him....So I did.

As I call Ronnie looked at me and joined our group. Suddenly he took the

gift I gave him( the little Sapo) that was on his pocket and started to sing

to me Sitting in a Dream after he kissed my face and hugged me !! I was

delighted!!

We spent the whole night talk about music, and I could realised how Funny

Ronnie was and all the time we laughed !!

It was 6:00am but after left us he asked us if we are going to the show or

if we had already gone to. We said that we still are going to. He got happy

and said I see you there.

The next day was the last day of DP perform here in Brazil. I got ready and

went to the VIA FUNCHAL. I met my friends there and we entered together.

The show started everybody got quite...it’s a miracle !!!!

The first part of the show was only the Orchestra and the second one was

more interested indeed....Someone next to me said Look it’s DIO... and as he

step on the stage....all his fans got crazy!!( I say all his fans because

there was lots of people who didn’t know him....and they didn't understand

nothing when all folks got crazy doing the Heavy Metal’s sight) Ronnie sang

Love is All, Sitting in a Dream, Fever Dream and Rainbow in The Dark.

In Rainbow in The Dark people left their seats and went next to the

stage....Ronnie ran all the time and shake our sense with his powerful

voice!!

When he went backstage people go on shouting DIO DIO DIO It was difficult to

Gillan started to sing again!!!

Ronnie came back to sing Smoke On The Water....and again people left their

seats ......

Well, the show has finished I was still dreaming ....I got a Taxi and went

to the Hotel because I needed to see Ronnie again...it was the last night

and I could not miss at all!!!

When I got to the Hotel Ronnie was already there. But Roger Glover passed me

by and said Hi Luccy!!....and came into the bar . After Ronnie passed me by

and said How are you Luccy and smiled! He came into the bar as well, and

this night it would be impossible to get into there because there were too

many people inside and outside just wait to come in.

I sat down on a couch outside the bar...I could at least look Ronnie!

Suddenly I felt a soft touch in my shoulder. As in a flash I looked and

there ...Ronnie!

He looked at me hugged me and said good bye...I got so sad that words

didn’t came ....I said nothing!!

He posed to some pictures with some fans and went away...

As the door’s lift closed I went away as well...

I know that it was the first of many meeting I will have with Ronnie...and I

hope I can talk more because I got so delighted that I barely could speak

But finally I discovered why Ronnie is Magic. It is because he has a kind of

enchant that let us MESMERIZED BY JUST THE SIGHT!!!!
